Lily Mitchem Pearsall

brings a museum-trained approach and infectious enthusiasm to the art world.

I love introducing all kinds of audiences to the world of art and ideas.

As a coach and founder of The Curatorial Method, I help ambitious creatives, interior designers, and collectors access their art world authority using curatorial techniques so they can communicate clearly and confidently about art and aesthetics, serve fantastic clients, and swiftly source meaningful art for any budget.

In my role as Director of Museum Relations at Hosfelt Gallery, I conduct deeply sourced research and liaise with museums, artists, collectors, curators, financial managers, non-profits, and commercial enterprises.

Before founding Curatorial Strategies in 2021, and joining Hosfelt Gallery in 2022, I was the Curatorial Project and Strategy Manager for the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art. Working in the Painting and Sculpture Department, I helped organize major special exhibitions for the museum, including: The Campaign for Art (2016); Matisse/Diebenkorn (2017); René Magritte: The Fifth Season (2018); JR: The Chronicles of San Francisco (2019); and Diego Rivera’s America (2022). Prior to joining SFMOMA, I worked for numerous art galleries and conducted PhD coursework at the City University of New York. I graduated from Scripps College with a BA in Art History and hold an MA in The History of Art from the Courtauld Institute of Art, London.
